On my Birthday.....

I would like to thank 3 group of special people who has impacted by life and brought a smile on my face, during times of heart ache and tears!

1. God - for always being there no matter what! Telling me there is a purpose and destiny ahead of me. Reminding me not to be self absorbed or self centred. But to focus on serving and glorifying Him. He is always in control, even during times when I don't see His purpose.

2. Friends - for always giving the affirmation I needed and wanted! For listening to me pour out my woes and disappointments without judging! For always showering love and companionship when needed! Special mention to Jane, Wendy and Liza for their concern esp during this week!

3. Family - for providing the shelter where I can always run back to! For dad's gentleness n concern whenever he knows I'm upset! Mum's forever getting anxious and worried for me. Cindy forever nagging and irritating me. Elvin, though aloof but will do anything I ask.

My birthday wishes....

1. I'll be happier next birthday. Really celebrating with friends and family!
2. I'll be a step closer to what God has installed for me by next birthday
3. This is a secret! Hee

"The sacrifices of God are a broken spirit; a broken and contrite heart, O God, you will not despise." Ps 51:17

A beautiful song....
Be still for the presence of the lord
The holy one is here
Come bow before him now
With reverence and fear
In him no sin found
We stand on holy ground
Be still for the presence of the lord
The holy one is here
In the presence of the Lord
No words are needed
We can only be still
With reverence and awe

BINTAN GETAWAY

It was indeed a rejuvenating holiday! Thank God for a carefree getaway! Indeed his blessings was with us. When we touched down, the rain stopped. We could enjoy sea sports and outdoor games. Towards the end of the stay, as we were leaving, it then started to drizzle and rain! No motion sickness/nausea vomitting during the boat ride. I was so fearful as I'm usually quite proned to it. THank God for the other 3 companions who prayed for me! Ha...Needless to mention, the company was great! Accommodating, fun and funny! Thanks for taking care of me when I was not well. Most appreciated! Looking forward to our next holiday!

Saul, Anoited Yet Without Character
A man who was led by his fears and insecurities and unable to trust God fully for his calling and his destiny. That's King Saul. When called by Samuel, he replied, " Am I not a Benjamite, from the smallest tribe of Israel and is not my clan the least of all the clans of Benjamin? Why did you say such a thing of me?" When it was time to be installed as the first King of Israel, he was found hiding among the baggage. When his army was hard pressed, he felt compelled to offer burnt offering when human help (Samuel) did not appear. When instructed to destroy the Amalekites, he obeyed God but only partially. He pounced on the plunder which appealed to his eyes.
Saul is certainly not an evil man who outrightly sin against God. However his life was motivated by insecurities, and his actions led by his own wisdom. The lack of trust in God caused him to stumble from fulfilling the destiny which God has for him.

David, The Giant of Faith
"Your servant has killed both the lion and the bear; this uncircumcised Philistine will be like one of them, because he defied the armies of the living God."
"The lord who delievered me from the paw of the lion and the paw of the bear will deliver me from the hand of this Philistine."
"You have come against me with sword and spear and javelin, but I come against you in the name of the Lord Almighty, the God of the armies of Israel, whom you have defied."
Out from an overflow the heart, the mouth speaks. Such are the bold exlaimations of David the sherperd boy. What a stark difference comparing King Saul and King David. King David simply have the audacity and faith in God who led him through the various trials in his life! God called david a man after his own heart and the lord was grieved that he had made Saul king over Israel.
How often we yearn for the calling and anoiting of GOd that will lead us to our destiny? Are we ready, truely ready for God to use us as his godly vessels, with character of david and not Saul, with faith and trust. Not faith in our faith or faith in ourselves or faith in a easy solution, or in money, or in any human help, but faith in God! Indeed faith and trust in GOd is so important that either make or break our destiny in Him.

"THE LORD IS WITH YOU MIGHTY WARRIOR."

Gideon, a man threshing wheat in a winepress.
Gideon, who asked, "where are all his wonders that our fathers told us about
Gideon who said, "My clan is the weakest in Manasseh and I am the least in my family.
Gideon, The Mighty Warrior?

Gideon has been one of my favourite character in the bible. Not that he's a great man, I mean, he never stand a place in the hall of fame among the other big names! His life was condensed in 3 short chapters. But God chose to speak to me through him!

As I read again about this man, I wondered, Why Gideon? A very ordinary man who at best know how to follow instructions, perform some miracles, be a leader over the israelities...A mighty warrior?

But indeed he is GOd's Mighty Warrior and perhaps had a very special place in God's heart.

The Israelites said to Gideon "Rule over us - you, your son and your grandson-because you saved us out of the hand of Midian." Reckon the offer of fame, power and riches.

But Gideon told them, " I will not rule over you, nor will my son rule over you. THE LORD WILL RULE OVER YOU."

THank God for sharing, his reason for choosing Gideon, The Mighty Warrior
